Looking for an easy 12×12 scrapbook layout that works beautifully with four photos and comes together quickly? This page uses simple banner accents, leftover strips, a bold title, and space for journaling—perfect for family memories, outdoor photos, and beginner scrapbookers.
Today’s layout was created using Paper Pumpkin card kit leftovers, but the design works with any patterned paper scraps and alphabet letters you already have in your stash.
This layout is one of my favorites because it’s:
- Top banner border for visual interest
- A clean photo row across the page
- Bold oversized title along the bottom
- Small embellishment clusters for balance
- Simple journaling block + location label
Scrapbook Supplies Used
You can recreate this layout with any supplies, but here’s what I used:
- 4 photos (trimmed slightly to fit)
- Patterned paper scraps (from a card kit)
- Cardstock strips (½” wide)
- Alphabet dies or stickers
- Small embellishments (foliage, sequins, die cuts)
- Adhesive (tape runner + liquid glue)
No Paper Pumpkin? No problem.
Any card kit, scrap paper, or coordinating cardstock will work beautifully.

How to Build This 12×12 Scrapbook Layout
- Prepare Your Photos
- I used four 2-3/4″ x 4″
- Create the Top Banner Border
- it draw the eye across the page
- it add movement without clutter
- it’s perfect for scrap paper leftovers
- Add a Horizontal Strip at the bottom for Balance
- This small detail adds structure and keeps the layout from feeling “top heavy.”
- Build a Bold Title
- Big titles anchor scrapbook pages and make your layout instantly readable—even from across the room.
- Add Embellishment Clusters
- Keep embellishments in odd numbers and repeat colors to maintain balance.
- Finish with Journaling
- Who was there
- What we were doing
- Why it mattered

The Story Behind This Scrapbook Page
This page documents a sweet day rockhounding at Grapevine Lake with my husband and our granddaughters. He’s a true rockhound, patiently helping the girls identify stones, answering questions, and turning an ordinary afternoon into a memory worth saving.
These are exactly the kinds of everyday moments I love preserving—simple, meaningful, and full of connection.
