In this tutorial, I explain step by step my creative process in creating this birthday card from a card sketch. You will find the instructions, supply list and a video below.
I am using sketch 21 from my 30 Card Sketches with Examples ebook. This card is made with the Stampin’ Up! Pieced of Cake stamp set.

Piece of Cake Measurements
- Flirty Flamingo cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock 2-1/2″ x 4″
Piece of Cake Details
- Stamp “Happy Birthday” all over card base in Flirty Flamingo
- Stamp cake, candles and cake plate in Stazon then color with watercolor pencils and blend with blender pen
- Cut cake out with Stitched Rectangle Die
- Cut doily in half and tape to card base leaving an inch between two pieces
- Tape ribbon over the doily
- Stick cake on with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Sketches make creating a card much easier. Use them with product suites and kits to make it even easier.
