Can you remember learning Origami as a child? Did you make paper swans and blow up boxes? I do and the one thing I most remember was how important precise folds and a bone folder were.
So get out your scoring tool and bone folder because in today’s Fun Fold Friday tutorial I’m going how to make an Origami window for Santa to peek out of.
Instructions and measurements are below the video
Measurements
- Card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Card layer 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Inside White layer 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Designer Series Paper DSP 3-3/4″ square
- Window base 2-7/8″ square
- Inside window 2-5/8″ square
Instructions
- Stamp the sentiment at the bottom of the card layer and image on inside widow square 2-5/8″
- Run the card layer through the embossing folder
- Glue the layer to the card base
- Color image for inside window
- Make Origami window as described below and in the video
- Adhere the window base to the back of the origami window
- Adhere the inside square in between the folds of the window
- Glue the window to the card
- Decorate with embellishments
- Don’t forget the inside and envelope
Find the center of the DSP by folding in half one way and then other way
Bring all 4 corners to the center
Fold the corners back so the point extends 1/4″ past the window ( there is a 1/2″ space between the two folds)
