Do you have more Designer Series Paper than you know what to do with? I certainly do! If you’re looking for ways to use up your paper stash, I’ve got four easy fun fold cards that are just perfect! These designs use generous amounts of patterned paper, giving you a chance to show off those beautiful prints you’ve been saving. And don’t worry, they’re all beginner-friendly! So grab a few sheets of your favorite paper, and let’s make some beautiful cards to send to friends and family.

For today’s projects, I’m using Stampin’ Up!’s Garden Poetry Designer Series Paper. I bought this paper months ago and hadn’t even opened the package! Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that!

The great thing about these fun folds is that you can use just about any patterned paper you already have. Change the paper, stamps, and colors, and you’ll have a completely different-looking card!

Portrait Style Fold Out

We’re starting with one of the easiest fun folds you’ll ever make!

This card uses a long strip of Designer Series Paper folded accordion-style and attached to a cardstock base. When you open the card, all that beautiful patterned paper unfolds!

I love how simple this design is, yet it makes such a pretty card. It’s a wonderful way to show off both sides of your double-sided Designer Series Paper.

Landscape Style Fold Out

Our second card is similar to the first, but this time we’re turning it sideways!

The Landscape Style Fold Out uses the same accordion-fold concept, but with different proportions. I especially love how the pretty floral paper opens up to reveal even more of the design.

This is another quick and easy card that looks like you spent much more time making it than you actually did! And it’s another great way to make a dent in that growing paper collection.

Four Panel Fun Fold — A Fun Way to Use Up Your Paper Stash

Now this one is really fun!

Instead of folding the Designer Series Paper, we’re using cardstock to create four panels and decorating each one with our pretty paper.

One of my favorite things about this design is how the patterned paper lines up across the panels. When the card is closed, it almost looks like one continuous piece of paper!

Open it up, and you have all these beautiful panels to show off. If you’re trying to use up your paper stash, this design is especially fun because you get to feature so much of your favorite print in one card!

Double Card with Gift Card Holder

Our final card has a little something extra—a hidden gift card pocket!

This clever design is like having two cards in one. The front opens to reveal a place to tuck a gift card, and then the main card opens so you can write a personal message.

Wouldn’t this be perfect for birthdays, Christmas, graduations, or just sending someone a little treat?

It’s a few more steps than our first three cards, but don’t let that scare you. I’ll walk you through the whole thing in the video!

Use Up Your Paper Stash and Brighten Someone’s Day!

One of the things I love most about card making is knowing that something I’ve created can brighten someone’s day.

I especially enjoy making cards for our church card ministry. Sometimes it’s hard to find just the right words when someone is grieving, struggling, or simply needs a little encouragement. A handmade card is such a wonderful way to remind someone that they’re loved and that someone is thinking about them.

So here’s my challenge for you this week: Use up your paper stash, make a beautiful card, and actually send it! That pretty paper is doing a lot more good in someone’s mailbox than it is sitting on our shelves.

And I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Are you someone who saves every beautiful piece of Designer Series Paper, or do you cut right into it?

If you love making fun fold cards as much as I do, I’ve got even more ideas to share! Fun folds are such a great way to use your pretty Designer Series Paper, and there’s always another design to try.
