In today’s fun fold Friday I’m going to make a Galentine twist and pop up card using the FREE Friendly Hello bundle
Measurements and Written instruction are below the video
Measurements
- Card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″ folded in half
- Pop up mechanism is 2″ x 8-1/2″ scored in half lengthwise and criss-cross at the 3-1/4″ both sides
- Heart layer is 2-1/2″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″, 5-1/2″ and 8-1/4″ fold like an accordion
- Inside DSP (designer series paper) cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″ then cut off both top corners at the 2″ mark on both sides
Instructions
Make the heart layer
- cut out 4 hearts approximately 2-3/4″ wide (if it is wider they will just overlap)
- Adhere the 4 hearts to the four sections of the accordion fold cardstock
- Trim the cardstock around the hearts
Continue making the Pop up
- Fold the mechanism and glue in place as shown on the video
- Lay the heart layer on the opened mechanism and mark where to glue in the upper right corner and bottom left corner as shown in the video
- Adhere the 2 DSP
- Finish card as desired

Hi Kristina,
the cardstock / paper you used for the mechanism and the stroke, you glued the hearts on – which paper weight did you use? I used 270gr/m² which comes to 100lb in the US.. It works perfectly and is really sturdy, but a bit on the heavy side for my liking. Could ou pls let me know how thin I can go without the mechanism ripping or breaking when opening the card?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Warm regards from Austria – the one without the kangoroos. 😉
