Happy New Year! It’s that time again when most people make resolutions to improve their life for the year to come. As a crafter, will you be making a crafty new year resolution?
I love the beginning of a new year. To me it marks a new beginning. New people to meet, new adventures to enjoy and new memories to create. And a time to sit and reflect on what a wonderful life it really is.
Looking back over 2017 I’m happy with the decisions I made and all the things I accomplished. My resolution last year was to be content with all I already have. Over the year I learned to shop my closet instead of buying the newest outfit and when I was temped to change the decor in my home I reminded myself I was fortunate to have the beautiful things I already owned.
My Crafty New Year Resolution
This year I am taking it to the next level. This year I resolve to have less. I want to reduce my clothes and purge all the “stuff” around the house by half. If it is not useful or bring me joy it is out of here. And my biggest “stuff” monster to conquer is my craft supply. My craft room is so full of supplies I cant find anything and end up buying more. I have two table surfaces and they are always piled with stuff I can’t find room to create. It’s also hard for me to video tape my latest project because there is no room with all the stuff in the way.
So this year my crafty new year resolution is to sort and organize it all. And I plan to give a lot of it to place near me that takes craft supply donations.
It’s a new year! and with less stuff I plan to have more fun, more space, more money and more time to create more beautiful things!
Do you have a crafty new year resolution? I love to hear what it is. Let me know in the comments below.
