I have always loved the look of the side step fun fold but all the complicated cuts and scoring deterred me from making them. But not now! I have found a way to create this 3D card that is so easy my grandchildren can make it.
Fun Fold Measurements
- Base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and 8-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
- Panel DSP 4-1/4″ x 2-1/2″
- Step DSP front 5-1/2″ x 1″, middle 5-1/2″ x 1-1/2″, back 5-1/2″ x 2-3/8″
- scraps for boats, clouds, sun and sentiment
Instructions
- Score base at 2-1/8″, 4-1/4″, 5-1/2″, 6-3/4″, and 7-5/8″ score second base piece at 4-1/4″
- Before assembling the step fold adhere DSP to the back and middle steps
- Secure the second piece of the base to the left side of the front step and the back of the card
- Adhere the panel DSP then the first step DSP
- Tie twine around the bottom step
- Decorate with sailboats, sun and clouds, and the sentiment

hi Kristina..love your card! was wondering what die you used to cut your wave shape on the dsp.I would love to make this card. Many thanks all the way from the UK 🇬🇧
Kristina says
I did not use a die. I fussy cut the designer paper from By the Bay. However, you could use the negative of the scalloped die in our colors and contour bundle.

Kristina,
I love this faux step-card layout!! In the video, you state that the last score line should be at 7-5/8″; however, the Fun Fold measurements on your blog state 7-3/8″. Can you clarify, please!
Thank you.

Hi Cindy,
thank you for bringing this to my attention. The blog was incorrect and I have fixed it. It should be 7-5/8
Again thank you
