Ready for a cozy Monday Night Stamping project? In this tutorial, we’ll build a one-page autumn scrapbook layout that holds four photos—perfect for travel memories like our quick stop in the Great Smoky Mountains on the way to Thanksgiving with family. We’ll use the Gathering Together Designer Paper with leaf motifs, create simple leaf clusters for embellishing, and add the “Taking the Scenic Route” title. You’ll find the supply list and exact measurements below, plus spots to drop in your photos and close-ups.

Autumn scrapbook layout tutorial with four photos, leaf borders, and ‘Taking the Scenic Route’ title

Theme & Design Notes / Autumn Scrapbook Layout Tutorial

  • Vibe: Warm fall leaves + woodgrain with pops of Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, and Old Olive
  • Photos: Works beautifully with four 5.5″ x 4″ landscape photos (or mix in a zoomed detail photo)
  • Title: Taking the Scenic Route (stamped, fussy cut, or cut on your Cricut)
  • Clusters: Leaves + acorns in 2–3 color repeats for visual balance
  • Optional: Cricut Print then Cut for signs/mushrooms/phrases
Autumn scrapbook page details: close-up of “Taking the Scenic Route” title with layered leaves and acorn, plus a leaf-patterned border with scallop trim.

Measurements for Autumn Scrapbook Layout Tutorial

  • Base: Old Olive *DSP 12″ x 12″
  • Center panel: 8″ x 12″ Beige woodgrain*DSP (runs horizontally through the middle)
  • Top & bottom borders: Two 2″ x 12″ strips (leaf *DSP). Add scallop/trim if desired.
  • Photos: Two at 5.5″ x 4″ (landscape) and two at 4″ x 4″
  • Title strip: ~5/8″ strip of White cardstock (stamp “Taking the Scenic Route,” twice in Early Esspresso and again in Cajun Craze. Then fussy cut “Taking the” to pop on dimensionals)
  • Journaling spot: ~2″ x 3″ block (can run vertical along the right photo edge)

Step-by-Step: Autumn Scrapbook Layout Tutorial

  • Frame the base: Adhere the 8″ x 12″ woodgrain panel centered so 2″ shows at top and bottom.
  • Add borders: Trim leaf DSP into two 1″ x 12″ strips; add scallop edge if you like and adhere flush at top and bottom.
  • Place photos: Two at 5.5″ x 4″ (landscape) and two at 4″ x 4″
  • Build the title cluster: Layer stamped/inked leaves + acorn behind the “Taking the Scenic Route” phrase; pop the “Taking the” piece with mini dimensionals.
  • Balance with a second cluster: Mirror colors on the opposite side (repeat Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso) for a triangular flow.
  • Journaling: Add a short note about page.
  • Finishing touches: Tuck an acorn or tiny leaf into negative space; avoid touching corner-to-corner overlaps.
