In this tutorial, I explain step by step my creative process in creating this beautiful Mother’s Day card from a sketch. You will find the instructions, supply list and a video below.
I am using sketch 9 from my 30 Card Sketches with Examples ebook. This card is made with the stamp set Tea Together from our Spring Occasions Catalog. I’m using colors from our 2017-2019 In Colors Write Markers. These markers will be retiring May 31, 2019.

Card Measurements
- Berry Burst Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Watercolor Paper 4″ x 5-1/4″
Card Details
- Color bottom third of the acrylic block with the brush end of a Stampin’ Write Marker starting with the lightest color first
- With the next shade darker marker, color the middle third of the acrylic block
- Finish coloring the top third of the acrylic block with the darkest marker
- Spritz the block with water and press down on Watercolor paper
- Blot up excess color
- Stamp rose image and sentiment with Berry Burst ink
- Attach watercolor paper to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals

Card Sketches make creating a card much easier. Use them with product suites and kits to make it even easier.
