For today’s Fun Fold Friday I am going to show you how to create this fun center pop out gate fold.
Measurements
- 159229 Thick Basic White 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
- 159276 Basic White 5-1/8″ x 1″, 3″ x 1″, and 10″ x 1″ and scrap for front and inside shapes
- 100702 Old Olive scrap for leaves
- 141416 Flirty Flamingo scrap for rose buds
- 162977 (FREE) Flight and Airy *DSP cut 4 panels 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ and 4″ x 3/4″ (Belly Band), and scraps for front and inside shapes
Instructions

- Cut all the paper according to the measurements listed above
- Score the base at 2-1/8″, 4-1/4″, and 6-3/8″
- Adhere *DSP panels to the 4 sections on the inside and 2 sections on the outside
- Score the 5-1/8″ Pop Out Mechanism piece at 1/2″ on both ends and glue the 1/2″ tabs to the inside of the card
- Score the 3″ Pop Out Mechanism piece at 1/2″, 1″, 2″, and 2-1/2″. Fold each end back and then forward and glue the 2 ends to the first mechanism strip in the center making sure the card can close flat.
- Cut out a large stitched rectangle from the *DSP and layer to the next smaller stitched rectangle from white
- Stamp the sentiment at the top of the white rectangle and glue to the Pop Out Mechanism
- Fussy cut a bird image and adhere to the rectangle with Dimensionals
- Wrap the 10″ strip around the closed card and secure with glue and adhere the 4″ *DSP strip to the center
- Cut the smallest irregular hexagon from white and stamp the sentiment in Misty Moonlight
- Punch out 2 leaves from Old Olive and 2 rosebuds from Flirty Flamingo and glue to the back of the white
- Cut the next larger irregular hexagon from *DSP and layer to the white with Dimensionals and glue to the center of the Belly Band
