Some of my favorite handmade birthday card ideas are the ones that push me to try something new — a technique I haven’t used before or a stamp set I don’t reach for often. This batch from my 31-day birthday card challenge did exactly that.
If you’re just joining the series, catch up on Cards 1-6 and Cards 7-12 first. Today I’m sharing seven more handmade birthday card ideas — Cards 13-19 — each one built around a different stamp set or technique.
Cards 13-16

- Card 13: A February Paper Pumpkin alternative design
- Card 14: Made with the Balloon Celebration stamp set and Flirty Flamingo ink
- Card 15: The Tasty Trucks stamp set, colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen
- Card 16: The Avant Garden stamp set with a pink glimmer paper accent
Cards 17-19

- Card 17: Another design using the Avant Garden stamp set
- Card 18: An interactive card featuring a dragonfly cut-out
- Card 19: The Dragonfly stamp set, paired with the same cut-out technique
Looking back at these handmade birthday card ideas, the ones I’m proudest of are 15 and 18 — trying watercolor pencils for the first time and figuring out an interactive cut-out design pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. If you’ve never tried a new card-making technique before, pick just one idea from this post and give it a try. You might surprise yourself.
